In communications opening the June 10 meeting, the Muskego mayor offered condolences for a recent accident on Little Muskegon Lake and thanked emergency responders, including test corners EMS, Muskego Police Department, dispatchers and members of the public who assisted.
The mayor also described changes to how agenda items will be added going forward. Residents seeking council discussion were asked to contact the mayor directly by email, phone, or in person. The mayor said items that require more review will be referred to an appropriate committee and that scheduling depends on staff availability and the time needed for background research. The mayor noted items outside the council’s authority will not be added to council agendas.
The mayor announced that Committee of the Whole meetings will be scheduled immediately after regular council meetings to streamline evenings and reduce adjournments. He also previewed upcoming meeting topics through the fall: health insurance in June, road infrastructure in July, and budget planning from August through October.
