The Sioux Falls School District 49-5 Board of Education approved a review/revised package of 13 policies and regulations after a presentation from a member of the district’s policy review committee.
Brett, speaking on behalf of the policy review committee, briefed the board on minor edits in several policies. Changes included a reference update in Policy FED (construction plans and specifications) and FEE (site acquisition); additions to Policy GBEB to prohibit employees from using district facilities or resources for private monetary benefit and to require professional, collegial interactions among staff; and a wording change in Policy KEB clarifying that public concerns about personnel may apply to district employees, not just school employees.
Board members moved to approve the set of review/revised policies and regulations; the motion passed by voice vote. No public comment was recorded on the item.
The package was presented as part of the district’s routine, ongoing policy review. District staff said the majority of the 13 items had no substantial changes and that the edits were primarily grammatical or reference updates.
