Chantal (district staff) presented the district's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) updates for the 2024'27 three'year cycle and opened a required public hearing.
Chantal told trustees the 2024'25 year was the first year of the current LCAP cycle and that staff fully implemented the actions in the plan. Changes in the draft LCAP for 2025'26 are modest but include several operational adjustments: - Addition of two general education TOSAs and one special education TOSA to the student success team to strengthen instructional support and differentiated interventions. - Expansion of the AVID elective to include an additional grade level period. - A new action to support a now'significant subgroup of long'term English learners, including dedicated resources and curriculum/training to accelerate reclassification.
Chantal said the LCAP is accompanied by the Budget Overview for Parents and the template instructions and that the district will include required actions, goals, metrics and expenditures in the final plan. Trustees asked procedural questions about timeline and data sources; staff said final approval would be scheduled for the following meeting after the public comment period closed.
The board opened the public hearing for the LCAP; no members of the public spoke and the board closed the hearing. Trustees thanked staff for their work on the plan and for cross'department collaboration that supports the metrics reported in the LCAP.
