District reports steady extended day care enrollment, 1:20 staffing ratio maintained

The Norris School District director of operations, Lee Cynthia, presented an overview of the district's Extended Day Care (EDC) program, reporting participation figures, staffing ratios, sites, and summer session caps.

Cynthia told trustees the district served a total of 757 children in EDC during the year (excluding drop'ins) and maintains a general adult'to'student ratio of 1:20, with exceptions for TK and kindergarten children who require more direct support. The program operates morning and afternoon care five days a week at four sites: BMATS, Norris Elementary, Olive Drive Elementary and Veterans Elementary.
