Morris said investigations were assigned 34 new felony cases and closed 93 investigation files, noting that many closures reflected a lack of investigative leads. He said deputies executed 19 search warrants, made five felony charges and recovered two stolen motor vehicles with recovered property value reported as just under $80,000.
Councilmembers praised law enforcement presence at Family Fun Day and thanked deputies and other town staff for event coordination; the captain noted multiple planning meetings were held for the event and acknowledged long staff hours to support the festival.
