Board approves final year contract change for Tony Grampus youth services grant (administrative update)

Lake County staff told the board June 5 that the state Department of Human Services requested an administrative change for the final year of a three‑year Tony Grampus youth services grant. The state asked that the county move from purchase‑order billing to a contract structure so reimbursements can be processed correctly for the next state fiscal year.
Parks and recreation staff said the change is an administrative modification only and will not change program activities. The funds support youth employment through the county’s Rocky’s Rock program, peer‑mentor relationships and other community‑based prevention services. Legal reviewed the contract; staff said reporting requirements and reimbursement processes are in order.
The board approved the staff request and authorized the county to provide the state with the signing authority contact to finalize the contract for the upcoming fiscal year. No additional county funds or program changes were approved at the meeting.
