Board approves state grant-funded partial intercom replacement at Plum Point Elementary

The Board of Education approved the Department of Planning and Construction's request to use the Baltimore City Public Schools cooperative contract IFB20012 for partial replacement of the intercom system at Plum Point Elementary School.
Director of Planning and Construction Shichida Warner said the funding source for the project is the State Aging Schools Program grant and that the Baltimore City contract provides sound and intercom repair and installation services. Warner told the board that, with approval, the district would issue a purchase order and the contractor would order materials; staff and the contractor expect most work to be completed over summer and, if needed, over winter break.
A board member asked about lead time and whether old contract pricing would apply; Warner said the contractor advised material could be ordered immediately upon issuance of a purchase order and that the project is fully funded by the state grant with "no cost match required from the school system." The motion to approve use of IFB20012 and proceed with the partial replacement carried by voice vote.
