The Planning Commission unanimously approved Extension of Time 25-03 for Conditional Use Permit 20-17, preserving the entitlement for a planned religious assembly facility at 1316 West 13th Street. Staff said the project remains in plan check under Building Permit B2403319 and no public comments had been filed prior to the hearing.
Applicant representative David Godoy told the commission personal hardships, including the pastor's family loss, slowed construction. He said the team has revised and prepared plans and will resubmit them to public works and building divisions. The approved extension maintains the prior conditions and does not change the scope of the previously approved assembly facility: the proposal includes a main assembly hall, nursery, meeting room, dining room and two classrooms with 173 parking spaces on the approximately 3.8-acre site in the Commercial General zone.
Commissioners asked no substantive follow-up questions; the commission closed the public hearing and adopted staff's recommendation by roll call. Staff said they will process the remaining plan-check steps so the applicant can pull permits once building-division checks clear.
Why it matters: The extension keeps an approved assembly project active while the applicant completes building-permit work; staff said the application moves forward without new conditions and with no public opposition recorded.
