Grady outlines clinic siting, MARTA service and communication plan for new DeKalb clinics

Ryan Loke, Grady—s chief health policy officer, said recent coordination with MARTA identified two routes that will serve the Flat Shoals site (north–south and east–west) and that bus service to the Candler Road location will be maintained during network changes. Loke said MARTA—s bus network redesign is scheduled to take effect in the fourth quarter of this year.
Loke also showed the site plan and said the Flat Shoals design includes substantial green space and a tree plan. He described ongoing developer and community discussions about connectivity between the Grady campus, an on-site Kwik Trip and the larger Clifton Springs development.
On clinic planning and community engagement, Loke said Grady is conducting a 2025 community health needs assessment that will inform clinic locations and services; he said stakeholder interviews and primary data collection are in progress and the community-health assessment will wrap up by the end of the calendar year.
Loke committed to increased and more regular communications with the board and administration, including more frequent briefings from Grady clinicians and program leads as the clinics move toward opening. "You have my commitment that moving forward, we're gonna do a better job in communicating more regularly and more robustly about what's going on at Grady," he said.
Why it matters: Transit access and clinic siting affect patient access to primary and specialty care; commissioners stressed interim transportation options until MARTA service is in place and discussed short-term solutions such as Uber/Lyft or MARTA Mobility.
