Staples Mill Regional Infrastructure Accelerator application (Item 148‑25) - The board authorized the Director of Public Works to apply for Regional Infrastructure Accelerator (RIA) grant funding for the Staples Mill regional infrastructure program. Staff (Public Works) said the project—covering the Amtrak station and adjacent improvements—was identified as needing detailed funding strategy, environmental clearance, and preliminary engineering; the program would be 100% funded by RIA if awarded. Dietrich Road outfall restoration contract (Item 149‑25) - The board awarded a unit‑price construction contract to Doran Landscaping in the amount of $176,000 for the Dietrich Road outfall restoration project in Tuckahoe. The project includes in‑stream structures, flood‑plain bench grading, site grading and planting across approximately 160 linear feet of an unnamed tributary of Tuckahoe Creek. Staff noted the county received five bids and Doran Landscaping was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; roughly 50% of the project funding is state funded.
