The El Cajon City Council voted unanimously June 10 to amend the city fee schedule to add a state-mandated flat inspection fee for mobile-home park spaces.
City staff told the council the change implements a new state requirement that moves the mobile-home-park inspection charge from a scaled per-unit approach to a flat $7 fee for each space. Staff said the amendment must take effect July 1 so the city can collect the fee from park owners and avoid reimbursing the state for uncollected charges.
No members of the public spoke during the public hearing on the item, and the council closed the hearing and adopted the amendment the same day.
The council’s vote was recorded as unanimous. Staff said locations for billing and enforcement follow state guidance; additional implementation details were not specified at the meeting.
