The Riley County Commission approved the treasurer’s request on June 5 to hire two customer-service representative (CSR 1) candidates immediately.
Donna Borgin (county director’s office) reported the treasurer’s office had an open CSR position since November and an upcoming retirement in September; department interviews identified two qualified candidates. The office proposed hiring both as CSR 1 positions (lower pay grade than the vacated CSR 2 position) and said the hires would have no negative impact on the county personnel budget because of the lower classification.
Commissioners moved and seconded the request; the motion carried by unanimous voice vote. The chair was asked to sign the required documents.
The county will proceed with recruitment paperwork and onboarding for the two new CSR 1 employees.
