Tamara (commission staff) explained the audit process and told commissioners this audit covered numerous deliverables and record-keeping items; she said the commission’s audit with Moore and Associates raised only routine findings and that some recommendations may not be cost-effective for a small service area (for example, requiring a separate independent audit of the county’s CTSA/Dial-A-Ride program). Tamara said some auditor recommendations are advisory and not automatic mandates, and that staff will use judgment on which recommendations to implement.
Commissioner Borges moved to approve and accept the performance audit and staff response. The commission accepted the audit by consensus. Tamara said staff will monitor recommendations over the next triennial cycle and report back on actions taken at future meetings.
Moore & Associates was identified as the current performance auditor; commissioners noted a separate, similar audit for the Redwood Coast Transit Authority is underway and staff will coordinate schedules and any follow-up.
