The Saratoga Springs City Council unanimously approved amendments to Title 19 of the City Code that remove a local restriction on tandem parking in residential zones and adopt state-defined boundary-adjustment procedures.
Staff told the council the changes reflect recent action by the Utah Legislature. The amendment to Section 19.09 (off-street parking) strikes local limitations on tandem parking within residential zones that state law restricted cities from imposing. The amendment to Section 19.02 (definitions) incorporates terminology and procedures from Senate Bill 104, replacing the previous “property line adjustment” language with “boundary adjustment” and aligning the city’s process to the state statute.
Staff said the city will implement both simple and full boundary adjustment processes as outlined by state law. Council members moved and seconded the item (mover and seconder recorded at the meeting) and voted to approve the revisions with no conditions; the motion passed unanimously.
No changes to fees or additional implementation steps were recorded in the meeting discussion. Staff indicated these are housekeeping amendments to conform city code to state law rather than new discretionary policy changes.
