Council approves vacation of portion of Burton Place subdivision to advance Blazer development

The South Salt Lake City Council voted May 28 to vacate a portion of the Burton Place subdivision plat, a step city staff said is needed to allow recording of new lots for a developer's subdivision.
City staff told the council the ordinance is a standard step in the subdivision process for "Blazer's new lots" and that the council had already discussed the item at prior meetings. No members of the public spoke during the public hearing, which the council opened and closed without public comment.
Councilmember Charlotte moved to approve the ordinance; Councilmember Corey seconded. The council conducted a roll call beginning with Councilman Sanchez; all voting members registered yes and the ordinance passed.
No conditions or amendments were placed on the vacation ordinance during the meeting, and staff indicated the action was procedural so the developer could complete plat recording.
