The Galveston Landmark Commission on June 2 voted to direct staff to develop a window policy for new construction and return to the commission with a formal case for consideration.
Daniel (staff) said the request formalizes prior discussions and gives staff authority to produce a draft policy that responds to commissioner guidance. "We need this step to officially direct us to do it, and then we'll come back with a case to present you with the policy," Daniel said.
A commissioner moved to direct staff to develop the policy; another commissioner seconded the motion. The motion passed on the record.
No public hearing was required for this action; staff will prepare the draft policy and present it at a future meeting for commission review and possible adoption.
