The zoning amendment reduces the minimum building line setback for single-family (SF-3) lots from 40 feet to 30 feet and permits decks, patios and similar features to encroach up to 10 feet into the rear-yard setback provided a minimum 20-foot distance to the rear property line is maintained. Council conducted a second reading and public hearing on both measures before voting.
