District staff reported that the community center roof replacement — an insurance project — has been completed and came in substantially under the original budget, saving the district about $70,000. Staff also said the community center lobby restrooms are finished.
Staff told the board the district is finalizing a contract with the district’s legal team and DHM and Mark Wilcox to begin design work for Community Park (Basis 1, 2 and 7); the planned design phase includes consideration of pivot‑wall/pickleball courts. Staff said the contract is in the final legal review stage and will move to design once approved.
On operations, staff said the Ranch House will expand public hours to include Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for summer operations. Recreation staff reported that pools opened (weather permitting), summer camps began, the first farmers market drew a large crowd, and the district hosted its first post‑pandemic USTA junior tennis tournament on May 17 for ages 14, 16 and 18.
Maintenance staff described recent work clearing two major drop structures on Greenbelt W, work the district estimated saved several hundred thousand dollars in contracted repairs, and Firewise vegetation work around the Ranch House. Staff also noted ongoing irrigation repairs tied to seasonal startups and recent utility work in neighborhoods.
No board vote was required to report completed projects or to approve the design contract at this stage; staff said they will return with the finalized contract and next steps when legal review is complete.
