A board member identified as Jen proposed that the Arlington Central School District board consider forming an EPS committee to review special-education support services and wellness.
The board president responded that the item will follow the board’s future discussion item protocol: the president said they will consult with Jen before the next meeting to expand on the proposal, consult with Dr. Benante (a district administrator referenced in the meeting), and then bring the proposal back to the full board for discussion at the next meeting so members have time to prepare.
The president described how the board rolls future discussion items to the next meeting so members have time to review background materials and indicated the board will discuss whether to task the board or administration with implementing any committee work. The president also said there is a short primer on future discussion items because the board has not used that process recently.
No formal vote or direction to form the committee was recorded; the matter was placed on the board’s list of future discussion items with the expectation that it will be discussed at the next meeting.
