Items discussed included a proposed increase in the competitive procurement threshold from $50,000 to $100,000; impact fee changes that would limit how often fees may change; a bill raising the protest threshold for zoning-adjacent landowner protests to 60 percent; potential changes to permitting or licensing of mobile food vendors; limits on municipal development moratoria; and a public information requirement specifying a 10-business-day response window for certain requests.
Sark said some measures had been sent to the governor and others either failed or stalled in committee. Staff emphasized they will monitor final actions, prepare summaries and coordinate with department heads to implement any new requirements.
A councilmember asked specifically about regulation and health oversight of cottage-food or mobile food operations; Sark and staff said the county health agreement remains in place and that zoning restrictions (for example where food trucks may park) would still apply.
Staff said they would provide a fuller legislative summary once the session ends and will track potential special sessions and local impacts.
