Board of Community Guardians asks commissioners to maintain funding for volunteer guardians

Commissioners asked for clarification about the yearly county contribution; a staff member confirmed the county has been contributing $2,500 annually. Commissioners and attendees praised the volunteers’ work but did not commit to a funding change during the meeting.
The request was presented as part of the county’s initial budget hearings; no formal action or vote on the funding level occurred at this session. The account and supporting documents were submitted to county staff for budget consideration.
