Courtney Morris, Wright County branch administrator, presented assessment rolls and details on administrative fees and eligible waiver years for districts. Trustees voted to approve a joint drainage district assessment with Hardin, Franklin and Hamilton counties for Joint Drainage District “45 right, big 4,” with a total levy of $146,065.78 and Wright County’s share listed as $6,571.63. The trustees then approved the county’s 2025 drainage district assessments as submitted; Morris noted the assessment worksheet shows administrative fees calculated at 3 percent plus $5 per tract and a far-right column that indicates the number of years districts may opt to waive payments.
Two work orders were reviewed and authorized for repair. One, for DD 232 in Section 11 of Lincoln Township (Dean’s district), was reported by Troy Askelson as a failed concrete main tile where a lateral (Lateral 7) ties into an existing 30-inch reinforced concrete tile. Morris reported the line is shallow near a tile inlet and recommended getting a price for replacing roughly two 16-foot sections of the 30-inch main with dual-wall plastic to avoid repeated repairs. The second authorized work order covers DD 131, Lateral A in Section 2 of Woolstock (Wolstock in the record) Township, reported by Kent Kerstein, for a broken or plugged tile; the contractor requested was noted as Aaron’s.
The trustees approved several invoices from contractors for recent drainage repairs and related work: Braun Tree Service — hydroseeding for DD 36 lateral C, $20,354.88; Mountain Movers — various tile and intake repairs ($1,841.80; $11,616.80; $3,828.60); Patterson Excavating — repair in DD 62, $6,159.40; and Pedersen Construction — surface drain lowering in DD 62, $7,847.60. A motion to approve the invoices was seconded and carried.
All motions taken during the Drainage Trustees portion of the meeting carried; individual roll-call tallies were not recorded in the meeting minutes provided.
The trustees adjourned and turned the meeting back to the Board of Supervisors.
