Oakland County Planning and Zoning Commission approves April minutes after corrections

The Oakland County Planning and Zoning Commission approved its April meeting minutes with several corrections during its May 2025 meeting.
Commissioners said the corrections included misspelled names, grammatical fixes and clarifications about which flag lot was or was not part of a proposed subdivision. The changes were read into the record and the minutes were approved by voice vote.
Miss Jones flagged multiple items, including a misspelled name on the first page and ambiguity about which flag lot was being referenced in the minutes. Jones said, "First of all, my name on the first page. I feel like that was a test." Other commissioners noted grammar and transcription issues on pages 6, 7, 9, 10 and 14, and a spelling correction for Mr. Triplett.
Senior Planner Barge's earlier comment about subdivision regulations also was noted for correct transcription; Barge had said that subdivision regulations require lots to have frontage on an approved public street, private road or grade (as recorded in the minutes). Commissioners discussed a sentence that should read "runoff" rather than "run" when describing stormwater capture.
After the edits were proposed, a motion to approve the minutes as updated was moved and seconded and commissioners voted in favor. The clerk recorded the outcome as approved by voice vote.
The approved minutes will be the official record of the April meeting unless the commission reopens that item at a later date.
