Resident urges clearer EngleFix responses as committee discusses long-vacant house and abatement process

A resident at a meeting of the Englewood City Code Enforcement Advisory Committee said a long-vacant house on South Lincoln has not been maintained for years, creating what neighbors view as a fire and safety risk, and she urged clearer follow-up from the city’s EngleFix complaint system.

Gretchen, identified in the meeting as a resident, told the committee that a house at “403302 South Lincoln” (as stated in public comment) has been empty for “at least 15 years,” that weeds and trees have overgrown the lot, and that neighbors have seen people loitering near the property. “We’ve submitted to EngleFix to have this taken care of or looked at. We don’t get any response from EngleFix, just that it’s been closed out and nothing happens,” she said.
