Commissioners honor Unified Washington PIAA state bocce champions

A team representative recounted the team’s path through sessions, regionals and state finals, including a last‑minute play that turned a 5‑6 deficit into a win at the state semifinal and eventual victory in the state final at Hershey. The coach and commissioners praised the players’ effort and character.
Commissioner Mann and other officials planned a short photo and presented a certificate recognizing the state championship. Team members named in the session included freshmen Sean Korp; juniors Jeremiah Pershing, Will Brown and Matt Sprinker; and seniors Jack Masterson, Olivia Givens, Matt Green and MVP Jaheem Regine. County officials described the recognition as an example of local support for student‑athletes and community programs.
No formal county action was required; the presentation was ceremonial.
