Beaver County work session previews 17 resolutions, including lease for Bridgewater festival site and streetscape project

Beaver County commissioners on May 21 reviewed a batch of 17 resolutions scheduled for the next meeting and highlighted several items that would affect county events, employee travel rules and local development.
The solicitor told the board that resolution number 9 is a lease to allow use of the Medic Rescue Park in Bridgewater for the county’s annual "Boom" festival, which this year will move from the Veterans Bridge area to the center of Bridgewater. The lease would permit use of the park for a concert and festival activities over several days.
The solicitor also said a new internal travel policy (listed as agenda number 13) will set updated procedures and approval steps for employee travel. Agenda number 16 is a collective bargaining agreement covering one of three bargaining groups the county has been negotiating with in recent months; the solicitor described that as settled. Agenda item 17 is a Beaver Ball Street streetscape project being advanced through the Department of Community Development.
No votes were taken on these resolutions during the work session; the solicitor indicated personnel and litigation items would be handled in executive session. Commissioners did not provide final approvals during the briefing and said formal action would occur on the regular agenda where appropriate.
