Steam Pump Ranch: staff said a new shade structure and concrete pad have been installed and are already in use by the farmers market. New ADA connector sidewalks have been completed, a new entrance fence and expanded irrigated lawn area are in place, and new solar lighting has been added. Staff said a consultant is completing a condition assessment on a historic house on the property.
Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve: staff said council directed design work for a 2.5‑acre pond at the preserve and that the consultant contract is being amended to proceed with the design. Staff also noted work with a stakeholder group to finalize guidance for adjacent property owners and ongoing efforts to remove invasive Russian thistle and refine trail access points.
Pusch Ridge event space and Naranja Park: staff reported two 40×40 shade structures are planned at Pusch Ridge (near tennis courts) with permits pending; installation will include concrete pads, artificial turf, small bleachers and picnic tables. An additional shade structure to match existing shades at the archery range is in fabrication, and 20 trees were planted at Naranja Park using leftover planting stock from another town project.
Programs and events: summer camp programming is scheduled to begin Tuesday at multiple town locations (recreation center, aquatic center and Steam Pump Ranch). Staff reiterated a recreation scholarship program that provides up to $300 a year for qualifying minors (eligibility tied to participation in government‑assistance programs such as free or reduced‑price school lunch) and listed upcoming events: trivia at the Overlook Restaurant (pre‑registration required), National Trails Day hike from Big Wash Trailhead on June 7 at 7:00 a.m., and a movie on the lawn at the CRC on June 21 (plus four additional movies later in the year). Staff also said planning is underway for the town’s Fourth of July celebration.
