The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Board voted to approve execution of the federal '889' form requested by the Wisconsin Army National Guard as part of an athletic banner sponsorship arrangement.
Staff explained the 889 form is a standard document provided to organizations doing business with the Wisconsin National Guard; the form helps address security concerns and compliance requirements. Staff also reported they had consulted IT and other internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with City preferences before recommending approval.
Board members asked about the nature of the form; staff said it is a standard Guard form and that the department had obtained assurances from IT and departed staff to confirm compliance. The board approved the item by motion and second.
Staff noted there were no changes to city vendor policy; the action was to permit the City to complete the Guard’s standard form as part of the sponsorship paperwork.
