Woods County commissioners on May 19 received an update on the Iowa Senior Citizens Project indicating contractors are making progress and scheduling the next major construction steps.
A county representative told commissioners that heating and air duct work had been installed and that subcontractors who fell behind because of recent rain were catching up. The contractor expected concrete crews to arrive on Tuesday to set forms and allow plumbers to work, and several loads of aggregate base intended for the concrete pad had been delivered.
The representative emphasized that while structural and mechanical work was advancing, interior finishing such as painting had not yet begun.
The board did not take any formal action on the project during the recorded discussion.
