CARSON CITY — The Senate Committee on Growth and Infrastructure voted to do pass Assembly Bill 452, a measure that revises provisions related to public utilities, during a May work session. The motion carried unanimously among members present.
Julian King, committee policy analyst, told the committee, “Assembly bill 4 52 revises provisions related to public utilities.” He said the bill was sponsored by Assembly Member Brown May and had been heard on May 12.
A senator who spoke in favor described provisions in the bill as likely to “help consumers” but acknowledged that labor groups oppose portions of the measure. That senator said they would vote yes to advance the bill because of the legislative deadline but expected continued discussion.
Chair Wynne called for the motion; the chair recorded a motion from Senator Donate and a second from Senator Taylor. After brief remarks and no further debate, the chair announced, “Motion carries unanimously of all the members present,” and said she would sign the floor statement to herself.
