Rafael Vega appeared as representative for Oscar Cardone, the applicant, and said the proposed church would occupy a 3,400-square-foot building. "We would try to change the commercial permit to a church," Vega said. Parish staff reported the building could accommodate approximately 90–96 seats and that the property can accommodate the required 32 parking spaces. Staff advised the use is appropriate with respect to transportation, water, waste disposal, fire and police protection, and other public facilities and recommended approval.
Commissioner Wayne Thibodeau moved to approve with a second from Commissioner Barry Soudier; the motion passed by voice vote. Staff said no additional conditions were imposed at the zoning/planning stage; necessary building permits and inspections remain separate processes.
No public opposition was recorded during the hearing.
