Parish planning staff told commissioners the applicant had not posted the required sign and recommended tabling the request to the next regular meeting, scheduled for June 26, to allow the applicant to complete public-notice procedures. "The recommendation was from staff is to table this to the next regular meeting… the public hearing sign was not posted," administration said.
Commissioner Trevion Smith moved to table the item and Commissioner Michael Billotte seconded. The commission approved the motion by voice vote. Staff noted the applicant had not specifically requested the tabling but that the absence of the posted sign was a procedural issue that justified continuing the item.
No substantive testimony about the rezoning was taken at the May meeting because the hearing was continued. Commissioners did not take any action on the merits of the rezoning at this session; the item will return to the agenda after proper public notice is posted.
