Town ratifies three-year contract with Palm Beach County PBA covering 2025–28

The Town Commission on Sept. 18 ratified a collective bargaining agreement between the Town of Highland Beach and the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) covering Oct. 1, 2025 through Sept. 30, 2028.
Town staff said the agreement incorporated cleanup language, recognized a missed holiday, addressed assigned vehicles and provided the chief additional flexibility in recruitment. The union agreed to adjustments to the salary table to remain competitive in the market, staff said. The town manager reported no legal fees resulted from the negotiations and that the contract was reached by agreement.
The commission heard no public comment and approved ratification by roll-call vote. Roll call recorded yes votes from Commissioner Goldberg, Vice Mayor Stern, Commissioner Chaunoski and Mayor Moore; the motion carried. The commission authorized the mayor and town manager to execute the agreement on the town’s behalf.
The contract will go into effect Oct. 1, 2025, and covers compensation and other terms described in the agreement; staff did not identify additional financial terms on the record during the meeting.
