Ivory Love, co-lead of the county’s Pride employee resource group, told commissioners: “Diversity is not a threat. It is essential to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” and urged ongoing support for policies and programs that ensure employees can “show up as their true and authentic selves.” Several county employees representing departments from aging and disability services to libraries and workforce solutions introduced themselves and noted their roles in supporting county services.

The proclamation text encourages residents and employees to celebrate “in the spirit of love, acceptance and unity.”
The meeting proceeded with the county board adopting routine administrative items and then moved on to other agenda business after the proclamation remarks.
Ramsey County’s Pride proclamation complements the county’s broader equity and inclusion initiatives, including internal trainings and a pronoun-normalization campaign mentioned in the proclamation.
