The Tavares City Council on May 21 approved the selection committee’s recommendation to designate seven caterers as approved vendors for the Pavilion on the Lake following RFQ2025‑0002.
Staff said the RFQ sought multiple caterers and allowed expansion of the approved list from five to seven firms because of increased event volume and client demand. Nine firms submitted responses by the March 27 deadline; a three‑person selection committee (assistant pavilion manager Amy Petit, pavilion services lead Alex Licoury, and Special Events and Operations Manager Sherry Mone) reviewed and ranked submittals on May 1.
The committee’s recommended inclusive caterer list (to be contracted for three years with an option for two additional years) is: Arthur's Creative Events and Catering; Big City Catering; C2 Catered Events; Events by John Michael (John Michael Catering and Weddings); Pisces Rising Catering; Puff and Stuff Events Catering; and River City Catering. Staff noted Pisces Rising is the only listed firm based in Lake County.
Council approved the recommendation by voice vote. Staff said if a selected firm drops out during the contract term, the next highest‑ranked respondent would be offered the position.
