Clean Pittsburgh Commission approves neighborhood outreach funding, trail cameras and cleanup contracts

The Clean Pittsburgh Commission on June 1 approved funding for trail cameras and several neighborhood cleanup contracts and set aside money for supplies and outreach to four neighborhoods of focus.

The commission voted to purchase three trail cameras for dump-site monitoring at a quoted cost of $2,243.88. Commissioners also approved a $5,000 contract with the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) carried over from last year, a $1,000 allocation to the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy for litter cleanups in the commission’s neighborhoods of focus and a $5,000 allocation to Allegheny Cleanways for roughly 10 days of dump‑site cleanup service. The commission additionally approved a $5,000 budget line for supplies for neighborhood cleanups (grabbers, buckets, QR-code magnets and other materials) to be distributed across four target neighborhoods.

The budget approvals followed a financial committee report that placed those items as the primary expenditures for the commission’s $30,000 annual budget; approving all listed items would leave roughly $5,000 unallocated for the rest of the year.
