Kyler Scott, representing fairgrounds staff, told commissioners the county solicited bids and received five responses. CRC Construction submitted the lowest bid and the county recommended awarding the contract to that firm. Scott said the existing concrete tanks are decades old, one has developed a leak, and the project will replace deteriorating infrastructure.
Scott told the board the project would be funded by reallocating savings from other equipment purchases and that the county had sufficient budget to proceed this fiscal year. Commissioners approved the bid recommendation and separately approved authority for the county to sign the contract so the contractor could begin work before the next board meeting.
The motion and subsequent contract approval were recorded as carried in the meeting transcript; staff said they would complete contract signatures and start the project as soon as paperwork is returned.
