Commission approves courthouse renovation concept but rejects proposed parking lease near new judicial center

Maury County commissioners approved a concept plan developed by the Courthouse Ad Hoc Committee to be used in obtaining a guaranteed maximum price for courthouse renovations (O62522), but they rejected a separate lease concept for additional judicial parking at 1112 Woodland Street (O62523) after more than an hour of debate over costs, site access and purchase terms.

County staff presented the concept plan for courthouse renovations; the measure passed 18-2. Separately, Mr. Murphy read the lease concept for parking at property owned by "1112 Woodland Street LLC," identified in the record as tax map 99-10 and described as a building and lot on the northwest side of the new judicial center.
