Community Corrections presented three contract requests and received mixed action from the commissioners.
The board approved a contract with Lexipol to provide policy-development and online training services; legal had reviewed the package and the department has funds allocated to proceed. Commissioners also approved a communications services agreement with Combined Public Communications to provide phone, tablet and communications services used by the facility.
Separately, the board took the Centos sanitation/cleaning and supply agreement under advisement and voted to table that contract to the next meeting so staff could gather additional information and cost details. Community Corrections leaders said the services would include cleaning supplies, laundry or toiletries, and that the county currently handles much of this in-house but wanted to explore outsourcing as the population grows.
Why it matters: The Lexipol contract affects corrections policy and training; Combined Public Communications addresses communications and phone services for detainee tablets and calling. The Centos proposal involves operational supplies and cleaning services and was tabled to allow further cost review.
Next steps: Lexipol and Combined Public Communications agreements will be executed; staff will return Centos contract details at the next meeting for further consideration.
