Council appoints two new members to Reno–Tahoe Airport board

After considering three applicants, council voted to appoint Brian Colvin and Eddie Alvaser to fill two seats on the Reno–Tahoe Airport Authority board.
The Reno City Council on June 11 appointed Brian Colvin and Eddie Alvaser to two open seats on the Reno–Tahoe Airport Authority board.
Jennifer Cunningham, a current airport board member, spoke in support of continuity and ongoing projects at the airport, including the terminal-area modernization effort (the R and O program). Cunningham emphasized experience in destination management and public affairs as helpful to the authority’s work.
Council considered written recommendations and letters submitted by applicants and by the airport’s CEO, Darren Griffin. After a brief discussion, and with expressions of appreciation for all applicants, the council voted to appoint Brian Colvin and Eddie Alvaser to the authority.
Ending: The council vote carried unanimously; the newly appointed trustees will serve the terms provided by the authority’s bylaws and will participate in oversight of terminal-area projects and airport communications.
