The Madison County Board of Supervisors authorized the fire coordinator and the county purchasing/receiving clerk to travel to Hammond to inspect two fire trucks the county ordered. The fire coordinator said the trucks are near completion and the manufacturer indicated the apparatus could be ready in about two months and possibly available by the next board meeting.
The fire coordinator requested authority for himself and purchase/receiving clerk Ebony Robicheaux to view the trucks at the factory before they leave to confirm specifications are met. The board approved the travel and inspection request by voice vote.
Ending: County staff will inspect the trucks at the factory and report back when the apparatus are prepared for delivery and acceptance.
Quote: "These trucks are almost ready within 2 months. I got a call Friday afternoon saying they're gonna try to have them ready for the next board meeting to receive them," the fire coordinator said.
