Madison County Board approves multiple tax exemptions, budget items and administrative requests

The Madison County Board of Supervisors voted on multiple items at its June 16 meeting, approving a series of property tax exemptions and administrative measures while denying others and acknowledging routine reports.

Board members approved several 10-year personal-property exemption requests, acknowledged revocations where applications were not filed, denied late or nonconforming filings and cleared routine financial and administrative items.

The board approved a dedicated internet service line for the sheriff's department's intelligence/IT function at $250 per month after staff said the connection must be separate from the county network. The board authorized a survey of property adjacent to the South Madison Annex (approximately 3.29 acres) as a next step in a potential land purchase previously authorized by the board. The board approved the previously authorized purchase and inspection trip for two fire trucks and accepted the planned process for receiving those apparatus when they are ready.
