Members also asked whether a retaining wall must be in place before dredging to prevent sand from washing back; staff said the order of operations and final sequencing had not been fully determined and the dredge company's equipment would be operating close to the area where the wall will go.
Council approved the award by voice vote in committee and later again in a special county council meeting. The motion carried and procurement staff will finalize contract documents pending receipt of required permits.
