Planning staff and the applicant then worked to add independent senior living as a permitted use and to develop design guidelines to govern how residential uses would be integrated into the neighborhood-commercial designation. Staff said the guidelines were approved at a recent meeting and the overlay application was the final map amendment required for the project to move forward.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing on the overlay. A motion to approve the zoning map amendment to apply the senior housing overlay to Parcel 230310089 carried on a voice vote.
The action only amends the city zoning map to apply the overlay; planning staff indicated design guidelines and prior approvals control the development details and that no additional approvals were recorded during the meeting.
