Alice Independent School District recognized 45 teachers on June 30 as part of the Teacher Incentive Allotment program and distributed checks totaling more than $580,000.
District human resources staff said the designations fall into three categories: recognized, exemplary and master. According to the presentation, Alice ISD had 10 teachers recognized, 29 designated exemplary and 6 designated master teachers for the 2024–25 cycle; the district will distribute a combined total in excess of $580,000 to those 45 teachers. Presenters said designated teachers will receive the same award amount for the next four years following this year.
Superintendent and board members invited campus principals and family members to the podium as staff read each recipient’s campus and award amount. Staff handled the distribution during the meeting; amounts for individual recipients were read aloud and recorded in meeting remarks.
Board President Jennifer Barrera and district leaders thanked teachers for classroom work and family support. The district emphasized the program’s role in recognizing exemplary instruction and retaining high-performing teachers.
The board did not take a separate vote on the recognitions; the awards were presented as part of the superintendent’s report and staff recognitions.
