The City of Quincy Board of License Commissioners on June 10 approved multiple requests including one-day liquor licenses, a common victualer relocation, manager changes and pledge approvals for Eastern Bank. Most items drew little debate and were approved by voice vote.
The board approved a one-day beer-and-wine license for the Thomas Crane Public Library Authority’s “After Hours at the Crane: Summer Solstice” on Saturday, June 21, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Christie Lockhart said the library expects about 150–200 attendees, will run a cash bar inside the library, use wristbands to control service and host some programming on the lawn without on-site cooking.
Off the Hook Bar and Grill at 1269 C Street received a special use permit and temporary extension of premise for its annual flounder roundup and block party on June 21, including live music on Bayview Avenue, a beer tent serving draft product and a short outdoor movie screening to raise funds for the Harvey Saltwater Fishing Club. Applicants said food service would remain inside the restaurant, with any outside service done in takeout-style warmers.
A one-day beer-and-wine license on June 17 was approved for Denise Hajja’s Eat Drink model fashion event on the Marina Bay Boardwalk; Hajja said proceeds will benefit South Shore Stars. The board also approved a common victualer license relocation for the business relocating to 195 Newport Ave with proposed manager Jagjit Singh; the applicant said the new site will focus on takeout.
The board approved a common victualer license for T. Meetrice LLC (bubble milk tea and rice bowls) for premises at 69 Billings Road, proposed manager Xing Hu Zhang, takeout-only and closed Wednesdays—subject to submission of occupation, food-service and allergen/safety certificates to the Health Department prior to license issuance.
Two restaurant licenses — PM Smith LLC (d/b/a The Poyot), 210 Washington St., and Malley Cat LLC (d/b/a Cagney's), 214 Washington St. — were approved for pledges to Eastern Bank. Neon Marketplace, 453 Washington St., received approval to change its license manager from Kyle Roberg to Mr. Haney; the new manager stated he is TIPS-certified.
The board also accepted minutes from the May 27 hearing and adjourned; the next hearing is scheduled for June 24.
