The Bountiful City Council on June 10 approved a lot‑line adjustment affecting multiple parcels on Barton Court in the R‑3 single‑family zone, following a staff presentation and council discussion.
Diane Morgan of the planning department presented the application, noting the adjustment affects Lots 507, 508 and 509 and that the proposal clears an existing lot line that currently crosses a dwelling. Staff recommended approval with conditions including preparing final plats/legal descriptions and deeds to the satisfaction of the city engineer, providing current title reports for both lots, and recording a boundary establishment with Davis County to clean up legal descriptions.
A council member moved to approve the lot‑line adjustment with staff recommendations, and the motion carried. Staff and the mover emphasized the approval would either bring both lots into compliance with minimum lot‑size requirements or reduce their level of noncompliance. In the staff presentation the Wheeler property (Lot 509) was required to have a minimum lot size of 11,000 square feet; the other lot pair (Lots 507 and 508) must have a minimum lot size greater than 0.132 acres as a condition of the approval. The council’s approval directs staff to finalize the required documents and record the boundary with Davis County.
Discussion vs. decision: The council’s action was a formal approval conditioned on the specific items that staff listed. No variance or ordinance change was proposed at the meeting.
