Florence Pioneer Museum OK'd to hold wine/whiskey fundraiser at Oak Creek on Nov. 15

The Fremont County Board of County Commissioners on June 10 approved a special-event malt, spirituous and fermented-malt-beverage permit for the Florence Pioneer Museum to host a wine/whiskey fundraising event at Venue at Oak Creek (800 North Fraser Avenue) on Nov. 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Gail McKinnon, president of the Florence Pioneer Museum board, told the board the event is a fundraising effort to help meet a grant-match goal of approximately $67,000. Ticketing plans described by McKinnon include a $15-per-person admission (or $25 per couple) that would include a glass of wine, a bottled beer or a nonalcoholic beverage and hors doeuvres; the event will feature a cork/wine pull ($25 a ticket) and a wrapped whiskey pull ($40 a ticket) with rules that bottles not be opened onsite, and a silent auction. McKinnon said she would arrange TIP-certified bartenders and volunteers for ID checks and that venue staff would assist with compliance.
Planning/staff reported the application met the 45-day submission requirement; public-health and sheriff reports recommended approval. Commissioners and staff helped the applicant identify requirements for TIP certification for servers and suggested venue staff assist to meet those requirements. The board approved the permit by roll call: Commissioner Bell, aye; Commissioner McFaul, aye; Commissioner Grantham, aye.
