Sierra Vista Unified names Terri Romo interim superintendent; says focus will be communication and storytelling

Terri Romo, the district’s incoming interim superintendent, told the program she will assume the role July 1 following the retirement of Dr. Eric Holmes and that she plans to prioritize communication and outreach to families and staff.
“I have an entry plan that I've laid out and shared with our governing board. Really gonna take some time just to listen and to hear community concerns, ideas from our staff,” Romo said. “We have some amazing systems. We're really gonna work on our customer service and, just really taking the time just to listen and hear what our families and what our staff need from us.”
Romo noted she is a product of the district, attended local schools and intends to highlight existing programs such as career and technical education, scholarships and extracurricular successes. She said the district has six elementary schools, one middle school and one high school and pointed to recent achievements including A‑rated elementary schools and scholarship awards supporting graduates.
Romo invited parents and students to use the district welcome center for registration and said the district will produce videos and other outreach to “tell our story.” She also said she expects to appear on the program during the school year to update the community on district developments.
