Lori's Place announces new corporate donors and expanded mental health services for victims

Michelle (last name not provided), a representative of Lori's Place, told the radio program the center received multiple recent donations and is expanding services, including virtual mental‑health care.

“ We were presented with a $10,000 check from Crest Insurance. They are our new corporate sponsors,” Michelle said of a recent event at Mountain View Golf Course. She also told listeners that Lori's Place received a $15,000 check from Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative that was matched by $15,000 from CoBank, and an unsolicited $2,500 gift from the Southwest Gas Foundation.

Michelle said Lori's Place has partnered with Charlie Health to provide virtual counseling and group therapy for ages roughly 11 to 50 and has developed social‑work internship placements with Syracuse University to expand capacity. The center offers forensic medical exams, forensic interviews, evidence collection, peer support and follow‑up care to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking and related crimes across Cochise, Graham and Greenlee counties.

“We collect evidence. We do the forensic interviews. We do the forensic medical exams. We have peer support services, mental health services, follow‑up care, everything in one building,” Michelle said.
